We met up with Annie and Mowsuf on July 24th for an engagement session that took us all around New York City.
Where do we even begin? We clicked with Annie and Mowsuf right from the start, and we like to believe we were meant to work together. From the very first moment we met at the Hudson with the crew from Images by Aaron, we knew we were a good fit. We went over their vision of their wedding festivities—all over some great food.
That led to us finding out that we were all foodies! So, for our next meeting, we decided to go to the famous Katz’s Deli, and then to Big Daddy’s for our last meeting. It goes without saying, all of our meetings lasted well over 2 hours. After all, time flies by when you are with good company.
We had a solid idea of what these two wanted out of both their engagement shoot and wedding photography, so on the day of the engagement session, we were confident about everything but the weather. The weather reports were showing rain half the day, but it was too close to the wedding to postpone, because we were all booked up. But then, on the day we were scheduled to meet, it rained until noon, but we still made it to five different locations around the city before the sun went down. It was quite the feat in NYC traffic on a weekday!
A personal triumph for Annie and Mowsuf was when we were able to get pictures at the New York Public Library. The couple very much wanted to get pictures in the library, but they weren’t able to obtain a permit in time. Luckily, we were able to sneak in some amazing photographs at this iconic building. We also got some amazing and dramatic shots at the Carnegie Club and gorgeous shots around the Oculus and Brooklyn Bridge.
At one point, when we were shooting at Washington Square Park, we had to laugh because Annie is scared of pigeons. And with pigeons flying everywhere at the park, it was quite the experience!
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t give a shout-out to Mo’s sister, Salyara. She was such a trooper and really helped out through much of the session.
Mowsuf & Annie, thank you for asking us to photograph your engagement session and congratulations on your August Wedding! We can’t wait to share those pictures. #ADoubleUWedding.
